Fred
Morath Direct Marketing began business in 2002 to provide direct
marketing and mailing list consultation to list brokers, list
management companies, direct marketers, small businesses, and
non-profit organizations.
With his extensive experience in writing marketing plans and
budgets, mail order catalog copy, space ads, and newsletters,
Fred included copywriting in the company's services.

Fred
has been in direct marketing in New England since 1971. In 1983
he joined the marketing staff at Dickinson Direct, one of the
largest full-service direct marketing firms in New England.
His responsibilities included B-to-B and consumer marketing
plans, a monthly newsletter on the direct marketing industry,
and budget proposals for printing and mailing.
In 1989 Fred became the in-house list brokerage manager at Dickinson,
where he developed targeted list strategies for many of New
England's largest companies. Fred and other brokerage managers
made a six-fold increase in list sales over 10 years, and the
list brokerage department became a significant profit center.
Fred served as direct mail sales manager for 10 years at H.
E. Harris, Inc., a former subsidiary of General Mills. The company
sold stamps for collectors, and published albums and kits. Fred
managed the direct mail sales program, from copywriting through
printing and mailing services. He developed annual and five-year
budgets, placed hundreds of space ads annually, and managed
the list rental program for new customer acquisition.
Earlier, as a merchandise manager and buyer for the Breck's
of Boston catalog, he worked closely with the art and creative
staff in writing and designing catalog presentations. Before
arriving in New England, Fred was of director of the advertising,
merchandise, and catalog sales program at Walter Drake. |
